It's so quiet here. I have a question.

Because you say, you get inspired by sins of a solar empire,x3,Total Annihilation and EVE Online. Those games have a ship design that I don't like. A large ship, but can carry fewer guns. like 6 and can't shoot Fighter. (seriously)

look at this

this is not spaceship but you see the gun he carry. and this is old ship.

and the other game

(starsector)

my question is, how many gun your Battleship can carry? and it can shoot fighter?

by the way my eng not good I tried my best :ghost

In Galaxial the largest ships such as Battleships, Carriers and Dreadnoughts can only fit "large turret" weapons. Large turrets have a slower rotation speed for aiming and lower accuracy, so are much less effective against smaller ships.

There are small, medium and large turret versions of all the weapon types (for example: autocannons, artillery, beam lasers, drone/fighter hangars etc.)
Small Autocannons or Light Drones would be best against the smaller ships... Large Artillery, Large Beam Lasers or Bombers against large ships.

The reason for this is to encourage the player to add more specialised ships with "small turret" weapons to the fleet to deal with smaller threats... otherwise there wouldnt be much reason to build other ship types once you have made an ultimate battleship design that can deal with everything.

With the blueprint research system in Galaxial you can add new modifiers to modules/weapons/ships, such as making them more effective against smaller ships (increased accuracy) This will use up a research slot for the item, so if you really focused on making a Battleship more effective against smaller ships it probably wouldnt be great in other areas.

The bigger the ship, the longer it takes to build. That is probably more rational.
to build specialised small ships. you know, it fast.

the ultimate battleship can do everything not deal with everything.
if battleship fight with 3 destroyer alone. He would destroy.

anyway In real life, despite the ultimate battleship We still need other types of ship. right?

In Galaxial, a battleship would still easily destroy 3 destroyers, so long as its large turrets can track and hit them... It all depends on weapon and module choice when designing your ship designs in the game. Also the weapon/module research system helps to specialise ships
